COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
Safe. Efficient. Demolition.
At Tiny’s Demolition & Recycling, safety isn’t a policy posted on a wall – it’s the foundation of everything we do. Since 1998, we’ve built our reputation on the principle that no project schedule, budget, or deadline is more important than the safety of our people, our clients, and the communities where we work.
We are OSHA certified and committed to exceeding regulatory requirements, not just meeting them. As a proud member of the National Demolition Association and the Associated Builders and Contractors Greater Tennessee Chapter, we benchmark our safety program against the best in the industry. Our safety record is one of the reasons general contractors, property owners, and developers across Tennessee and the United States trust Tiny’s with their most demanding projects.

Pre-Demolition Planning
Every safe demolition starts with a plan. At Tiny’s, we never swing first and ask questions later. Every project – whether it’s a single residential structure or a multi-building industrial complex – begins with a detailed pre-demolition plan designed to identify risks, establish safety protocols, and map out an efficient path to completion.
Our pre-demolition planning process covers comprehensive site assessments including structural evaluations and surrounding property analysis, hazardous material identification and abatement planning for asbestos, lead paint, and other regulated substances, utility mapping and disconnection coordination, permitting and regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, environmental protection measures including dust control, stormwater management, and erosion prevention, traffic and pedestrian safety planning for urban and high-traffic sites, and a detailed demolition sequence and methodology tailored to the specific structure and site conditions.
This upfront investment in planning pays off throughout the project. It reduces surprises, prevents costly delays, protects workers and the public, and ensures that the demolition proceeds in compliance with all applicable regulations. When you hire Tiny’s, you’re hiring a team that does the homework before the heavy equipment arrives.
Classroom & Equipment Training
The best safety equipment in the world is only as effective as the people using it. That’s why Tiny’s Demolition & Recycling invests in annual training sessions that keep every member of our team sharp, informed, and prepared for the demands of professional demolition work.
Our training program combines classroom instruction with hands-on equipment training. In the classroom, our team reviews OSHA standards and compliance updates, hazard recognition and risk assessment, emergency response procedures, hazardous material awareness, site-specific safety planning, and demolition best practices and industry developments. In the field, our operators receive hands-on training on all equipment they’ll operate, including excavators, Brokk demolition robots, and specialized demolition attachments.
Training at Tiny’s isn’t a one-time event. Annual refresher sessions ensure that safety knowledge stays current and that new techniques, equipment, and regulations are integrated into our daily operations. When you see a Tiny’s crew on your job site, you can be confident that every person on that crew has been trained to work safely and efficiently.
Safety Audits
Safety doesn’t end when the demolition plan is written. We conduct regular safety audits on every active job site to verify that our safety standards are being upheld in real time, not just on paper.
Our safety audits are performed by our Safety Director and Safety Manager, who visit active project sites on a regular basis to evaluate compliance with our internal safety program and OSHA regulations, observe crew operations and equipment use, inspect personal protective equipment and safety devices, review housekeeping and site organization, identify potential hazards before they become incidents, and ensure that corrective actions from previous audits have been implemented.
When our safety team identifies an issue, it gets addressed immediately. We believe that a near-miss today can become an accident tomorrow if it’s not corrected. This proactive, boots-on-the-ground approach to safety management is a key reason our safety record stands out in the demolition industry.
Dedicated Safety Leadership
Many demolition companies assign safety duties to project managers or foremen who already have full-time responsibilities. At Tiny’s, we take a different approach. We employ a dedicated Safety Director and Safety Manager whose sole focus is ensuring that every Tiny’s project meets the highest safety standards.
Our Safety Director oversees the company’s entire safety program, from policy development and regulatory compliance to incident investigation and industry engagement. The Safety Manager works directly with field crews, conducting on-site audits, leading training sessions, and serving as the day-to-day safety resource for our project teams.
This two-tier safety leadership structure ensures that safety is addressed at both the strategic and operational levels. Our Safety Director keeps our program aligned with evolving OSHA regulations, National Demolition Association best practices, and ABC STEP benchmarks. Our Safety Manager ensures those standards are put into practice on every active job site.
Having dedicated safety leadership means that safety never takes a back seat to production. Our Safety Director and Safety Manager have the authority and independence to stop work, correct hazards, and require additional training whenever they determine it’s necessary. That’s the kind of commitment to safety that protects workers, reduces liability, and gives project owners peace of mind.
