About this project

Tiny's Demolition and Recycling completed the multi-phase demolition of forty apartment buildings totaling 95,000 square feet in Nashville, Tennessee. To keep production moving without sacrificing safety or compliance, the team split the site into eight segments, allowing hazardous materials abatement to proceed in one area while structural demolition advanced on buildings already cleared. This phased approach kept crews and equipment working continuously across the site from start to finish.

Each residential structure required a full interior strip-out, including removal of contents left behind by former tenants, before structural demolition brought every building down to the slab on grade. Existing foundations, footers, and underground utilities within the footprint were left in place, requiring precise, controlled demolition rather than a full clearing of the site.

Before any structural work began, Tiny's crews performed complete hazardous materials abatement across all forty buildings in accordance with the recorded hazmat survey, including air quality testing and sampling to confirm regulatory compliance. Electric and water services were cut and capped ahead of demolition to protect crew safety throughout the project.

Site preparation also included installing tree protection fencing along the full perimeter of the demolition zone and removing two twenty-foot sections of existing iron perimeter fencing to create new access points. All debris generated on site was hauled and disposed of in full compliance with applicable regulations.

Spanning several months of coordinated phasing across forty structures, this project reflects Tiny's ability to manage large, segmented demolition scopes while maintaining safety, environmental compliance, and a steady pace of production from first building to last.
